This week at Young At Heart ULO we have had a box of reminiscence and physical activity.
On Monday morning at St John’s Church, the group worked on an individual circle of connections – drawing a diagram to represent their closest social circle, wider circle of acquaintances and those they talk to on a regular basis. This was to help Alison with her work for university.
In Billingham, the group continued with their Circus Skills. This week we had fun with balance and hand to eye co-ordination, working with Peacock Feathers, Spinning Plates, Scarves and the Diablo. The group had a great afternoon with DZ Circus School.
The Young Onset Group in Thornaby had an information discussion about their family history, talking about the different roles that they and their family members acquired, the jobs their parents and grandparents had and their current relationships with siblings.
On Tuesday afternoon, Julie from Living Active joined the Thornaby group to complete base line fitness tests with the group members. These sessions are running until Christmas to help the group members with their mobility and confidence in carrying out everyday tasks.
Again, nobody attended the group at Grangefield on Wednesday.
On Thursday, at the Egglescliffe session, the group took part in a number of Easter quizzes. The group worked well as a team to complete the Chocolate Slogans, recognise the Easter related pictures and complete a 32 question quiz covering Traditional and Fun Easter related questions.
